Peeper Ale pours out a golden orange color, with a big rocky head. Pouring out the contents at the bottom of the bottle gives the beer a slightly more hazed color than before. Grass and lemon come through immediately in the nose, along with a bit of chamomile, very herbal smelling overall. Extremely interesting flavor profile in that there isn't any one taste that is jumping out at you. Yeast, sourdough bread, grass, pepper, and lemon rind all come to mind. All of these are in the background, almost ghostly tasting if that makes any sense. Mouthfeel is stellar, coming off light, yet full of complexities. Drinkability is great, though I recommend taking your time with this one to see how it changes as it warms. This is by far one of the most interesting brews to hit shelves here in a long time. For fans of straight up APA, this should be sought out.

$ 6.49/16.9 oz bottle at Beer Run, Charlottesville, VA
Bottled 042914 at 40 degrees into standard pint
Aroma light floral
Head large (7.5 cm), white, frothy, slowly diminishing to irregular layer which varies from 1 to 20 mm thick
Lacing average – various size islands
Body light yellow, hazy
Flavor begins lightly flowery with bitter aftertaste, fades slowly; no malt, no alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate light to medium, watery, soft carbonation

Meets the criteria for an ale but seems pretty flavorless to me

A: Murky, straw body. Nice off-white head and lacing throughout drinking.

S: Toffee. Some slightly pine/floral notes. Slight lemon citrus.

T: Grapefruit/lemon citrus notes. Lemon rind. Toffee and caramel backbone. Some slight metallic alcohol on back end. So drinkable.

M: Medium bodied, could drink a few of these.

O: Just a solid beer--on the hoppier side for a pale ale but it still has subtlety and nuance in its delivery.
