Bottled on 9/2/14 -- easily the freshest beer I've had and now, for the first time, I think I understand the whole "Drink Fresh" thing. The beer itself was quite good, very clean and balanced and lightly carbonated, but the flavor (surely due to how recently it was bottled) was really bright and pronounced. Very impressive. Will have to get more of this -- sooner than later!

First time trying a tulip glass...

A - Poured a light, yellow, hazy golden color with thick, white head. Good lacing and retention in very light, frothy foam.

S - Citrus right off the bat and faint flowers

T - Very clean, with a little bit of bite on the back of my tongue. Grapefruit and lemons with a little bit of a champagne taste

M - Mouthfeel, very crisp and carbonated that reminds me of champagne

O - Good, very clean beer. There is not much that I dislike from the Maine Beer Company. They're putting out some great beers!

Beautifully sculpted, the beer isn't quite classic of pale ale but not exactly full-fledged IPA either. It does however have a signature American taste, dryness and cleanliness for high refreshment and drinkability.

Its hazy goldenrod pour is indicative of its light malt presence, releasing a pep of honey and scant caramel underneath the redolent hops that command attention from the nose and early palate. Under-ripened citrus and tangy tropical blends give a fruity perfume early on and a hop-forward taste afterwards.

Across the middle, the malt sweetness retreats gradually, however the creamy malt structure remains and supports the hop onslaught without bringing any undue challenge to the palate. Upon that malty bed dances the vibrant hop flavors of pink grapefruit, orange and light pineapple. Yet as the malts fade further, the light leafy, grassy and acidic nature of hops are exposed.

Its smooth and bitter finish washes the thirst from the palate with a dry character of citrus peel, light tangy acidity and faint hop-derived tannic character. Clean to the point where light seltzer-type mineral flavors reveal themselves just ahead of an aid also from alcohol dryness.
