Our take on an American amber ale. Complex malt bill delivers notes of dark raisin, chocolate and biscuit. Copious additions of American hops yield notes of pine and citrus.

Aroma: Medium sweet toffee and wheat bread malt aroma, hints of roast. Malt forward and full. Low spicy orange peel hop aroma. No DMS, No diacetyl, low strawberry esters.

Appearance: Ruby with mahogany highlights. Medium thick rocky tan head. No legs.

Flavor: Medium-low neutral bready malt flavor, much less than expected from aroma. Hop flavor is forward. Medium bitterness. Citrus peel with light hints of earth but almost all citrus: grapefruit pith and lemon peel. No DMS, No diacetyl.

Mouthfeel: Just heavier than medium bodied, very full feel in the mouth but does not linger and coat. Bitterness lingers for a minute or two, not fading much between the sips, almost a bit much.

Overall: Medium bittered amber. Not much stands out here just some citrus hops used for bittering that don't lend a ton to the aroma. It is good but wasn't worth seeking out. If I had it on the shelf at the grocery store, I would probably go to it occasionally though.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark amber color and a thick, cloudy consistency. There was an inch and a half of foamy, long-lasting head. Good lacing.

S: A subtle, but well-defined aroma of hops, malt, citrus, and a bready quality.

T: Tasted of a moderate amount of hops, biscuits, light citrus notes, and a bit of malt. Mellower than some red ales (a lower hops presence), but still a complex, vibrant flavor. Very tasty.

M: A solid amount of carbonation with a smooth, dry finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is one of those sneaky beers that grows on you after awhile. Well made and eminently drinkable.
