The color is a murky and opaque caramel. Great head, retention, and webbed lacing.
The nose has a heavy malt presence. Bready and slightly sweet. Herbal and pine hops.
Good balance of the bready malt, pine, and herbal flavor. Peach iced tea.
Chewy mouthfeel with heft.
A real nice hoppy red. I appreciate the assertive hops while keeping balance.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a standard pint.
A: Amber hue. Pours a 2 finger, fluffy, frothy, brown-white head. Slow, dry, cratering. Plenty of lacing.
S: Roasted malt, pecans, molasses.
T: Bitter pecan shells, roasted coffee malt, and a bitter hop.
M: Hearty and hoppy. Bitterness hangs on the palate throughout.
D: Sip and enjoy.
Atmosphere is really nice. Great head and some sound lacing. Nose is roasty and nutty. Bitter and roasty with a nice hop. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

This is one of those beers where I am confused and have to ask "is it just me?" I love the aroma with its sweet fruity hops like nectarines and watermelon but the flavor comes across as more winey sweet with touches of floral bitterness. This was a very fresh bottle so I'm inclined to think it's just my palate that simply did not accept the hop varieties.

This bottle was born on 1/14/14, sweet, just over two weeks old.
Zoe pours a hazy deep brown with hints of red. Has a large, thick and creamy tan head with very good retention and almost a complete wall of lacing. Aroma is mostly malt forward, showcasing caramel and toffee. Get a bit of citrusy hops in the nose along with hints of pine and resin.
Taste starts with bread and toffee, then moving to caramel and orange, with a dark fruit and toasty malt, floral, and resinous finish. Mouthfeel is a bit heavier than average, creamy and chewy, with average carbonation.
In my opinion, this is an expertly crafted beer. My tastes enjoy the balance weighted a little more towards the hops, yet this beer is still immensely enjoyable to me.
