Received as an extra from HopSynonymous - Bottled 5/20/14 - Poured into a Stone IPA glass
A - Pours a light, transparent, golden color leaving a 2-3 inch fluffy head. Once it recedes, it leaves a little bit of the lacing on the sides of the glass and about a 1/4" head across the top. Very good looking!
S - Immediate rush of citrus and hops! Taking my time and concentrating on the nose, I get tangerines, peaches, mangos, and a touch of pineapple juice. The hop play key part, but take the back seat to the citrus. There is a faint hint of caramel from the malt. Delicate to sum it up.
T - A bright hop presence with a resin and pinelike background. Grapefruit rind and lemon zest/ lemongrass are the dominant features of the taste. Once it warms, the caramel malt taste makes it entrance.
M - Slightly dry with a medium body and a comfortable amount of carbonation. Not overly bitter.
O - There is a reason the people seek this beer out. While I like "Another One" a little better, I would drink this everyday if able to buy it regularly. Just a beautiful example of what an American IPA is and has become.

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #55 (August 2011):
Slow pour still produces a sizable head; dull amber glow sans sediment. Fresh clementines, nectarines, strawberry taffy, toasted bread, nutty yeast and fresh-cut grass in the nose. Rustic, smooth yet bitty mouthfeel—a beer of sub- stance. Tame bitterness, though the flavor flogs the taste buds for a while. Nice hop bite with citric and herbal flavors, and some spice in the middle as the dry maltiness tries to rise above. Apple and pear fruitiness, warming alcohol and graininess try to stave off the hop flavor, but it just keeps pushing along. Pretty amazing brew, bringing back some clout for the true East Coast IPAs.

Lot 051811 on the label.
A slightly hazy amber color with a voluminous white head, even with a careful pour. Lots of sticky lace.
Citrus and tropical fruit aroma. Good sweet malt background.
Tropical fruit taste, very sweet. Grapefruit leading to a little bit of piney hops that I hadn't detected in the aroma. Bread.
This was a very well-balanced IPA. Will pick up more of these.

Had at the Sebago end of an era special event. Shared it with my wife and bumped elbows with pretty much every major player in the Maine beer scene.
The color is golden straw slight cloudy with a generous head.
The aroma is is fruity hops very very fresh. Wonderful.
The taste well what can I say its probably the best IPA I've ever had. The taste is all hops but never overwhelming. The flavor starts sweet becomes a citrus hop flavor and ends with a slight bitter of hops flavor. Wonderful.
