Bottled August 13, 2013. Nine days old.
Slightly hazy orange colour, with a large, frothy white head. Good retention.
Excellent nose. Bright tropical and citrus fruits, pineapple and grapefruit. Some pine in there as well.
Flavour is similar to the nose. Pine is more prominent than in the aroma, though the tropical and citrus fruits are still strong, again pineapple and grapefruit stick out for me, perhaps with some orange as well. Moderately bitter, but there is a a bit of sweet caramel malt in there for balance.
Medium bodied, strongly carbonated.
Overall, very tasty. The nose is the highlight for me, but it is very nice all around.

Poured from bottle to Tree house snifter. 7/30/13 bottle date. Poured with a monster head. Like half the snifter. I don't pour very vigorously, so very surprising. Dissipated fairly quickly though, leaving good lacing. Very bitter earthy smell. Less citrus than I remember from previous batches. Taste is also very bitter. Not a to of citrus. Nice creamy mouthfeel. I feel that MBC beers, and lunch in particular, suffer from batch variation. I've had amazing bottles of lunch, and mediocre bottles. This one fell somewhere in between.

A: Hazy orange hue with a four finger head, after a gentle pour. Head is a creamy white color that leaves thick fluffy lacing all down the glass. Very good looking beer.
S: Fresh cut grass, pine trees and grapefruit with hints of vanilla sweetness.
T: Loads of piney earthy hops followed by a citrus sweetness and a touch of vanilla smoothness. The carbonation then blends it into a good grapefruit/resin bitterness that finishes clean. Well balanced without the bitter burn or punch.
M: Very creamy beer. Nice smooth carbonation that blends the flavors well.
O: Very solid and approachable balanced IPA. This is one of my favorite IPAs. The aroma is great and the flavor is very good. Also makes very good beer batter for fish or chicken.

A - Golden Brown, HUGE thick white billowing head - dissipates very slowly, large sticky lacing, translucent and small carbonation rising
S - Juicy, sticky, sweet hops, citrus, fairly piney
T - Briefly bitter - quick transition into sweet fruity, fairly piney/grapefruit/tropical fruit/carmel. After taste has lots of pine.
M - Very frothy, big, thick, very nice carbonation, carmel/hoppiness covers excellently
O - Pretty awesome. Love the thickness, this is one for the bitter lovers - bitter-sweet-bitter again, but certainly nothing overwhelming. Certainly drinks like a IIPA. Certainly happy about this one.
