Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: Jason on 05-10-2011

Our “East Coast” version of a West Coast-style IPA. Intense hop flavors and aromas of tropical and citrus fruits and pine dominate. A subtle malt sweetness brings the beer into balance.

16oz. bottle poured into an IPA glass. 06-03-2014 bottle date

(A)- Pours a golden orange color. Produced a beautiful frothy head of white foam with superb retention and sticky lacing all over. Exactly what a great IPA should look like

(S)- Bright zesty; almost creamy citrus up front of lemon and lime that flows into soft bitter pine. The slightest hint at a honey / caramel sweetness in the background.

(T)- Quite similar to the smell. A bit more pine forward than the smell, but still a great array of zesty citrus. A subtle sweetness at the end tops the cake.

(M)- A great carbonation level and balance to this. I would daresay, a perfect balance of citrus, pine, and bitterness overall. Complex, but classic and dynamic.

(O)- An absolutely world class IPA. In a sea of mediocre and forgettable beers made in a style that every brewery thinks they need to make more than 5 different kinds, this one stands out for me in almost every way.

a. Cloudy yellow orange color with 2 finger white fluffy head when poured into a pint glass.

s. Almost all grapefruit, not as much complexity as I would expect

t. Mellow Grapefruit and pine

m. Good carbonation, light in mouth, a bit watery

o. Another great Maine Beer Co. offering.

A: beautiful golden beer, first pour was crystal clear, second pour from end of bomber came out a little cloudy, decent white head that faded fast, with decent lacing
S: best part of this beer. tons of fruits, lots of citrus, and some pineapple, along with a slight pine at the end. Only reason it isn't perfect is because it couldve been a stronger smell
T: follows the smell, lots of citrus up front followed by a nice mellow bitterness and a slightly resin aftertaste. Very easy to drink and very tasty, just wish it had more depth to the flavor
M: Very good, refreshing and not sticky or over carbonated, maybe slightly under
