Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

Reviewed from full notes at time of consumption over the weekend. I had heard great things and fully agree that this is a very good Pale Ale.

A- Poured into two pint glasses from the 500ml bottle. Slightly hazy, deep golden body receives a frothy, foamy white cap. The head retention is pretty good and it eventually falls to a thick ring and a bunch of pillows on the beer. Lacing is immediately thick rings and drizzles down most of the glass.

S- Bright and fresh hop blast right when opening the bottle. Hops have a nice bouquet of equal amounts of juicy tropical fruits and citrus juice plus rind. Some floral hints as well. Rounded out by fresh cracked grains, light sweets and some yeast bread.

T- Follows right where the nose left off with the citrus grapefruit, stone fruit pith, tropical juicy and floral hops just edging out the other elements of the beer. Balance is achieved as I think it should be in an APA with cereal grains, biscuit malts and light yeast bringing fruit and bread notes.

MF- Light body with a texture that is just between creamy and foamy. Carbonation at a high end and it really works well with the flavors here. Finishes with a light bitterness lingering with hop flavors.

Damn nice balance is struck here by Maine. The hops are super fresh and fairly pungent but it all rounds out in the end. This is what hoppier APAs should be like, great hop flavors with balance at the same time. It is not a mini-IPA in my opinion, just a great Pale Ale.
