Notes & Commercial Description:
Beer added by: BEERMILER12 on 02-29-2012

Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

A: Light, golden, cloudy appearance. Great lacing around the rim of glass. Tiny bubbles provide a fun effervesce.

S: Citrus fruits aroma dominates. Grapefruit, lemon, and hops.

T: Hops provide the bitterness, and the citrus fruits play a game of twister with the carbonation. The taste buds are really enjoying this collection of favors. This beer would be outstanding in the summer.

M: It's surprising how hop forward this beer is and how that impacts the mouthfeel. The bitterness extends to the back roof of the mouth. Very nice feeling that you would get from any citrus beverage. Very close to the line of being an IPA

O: Very easy drinking beer. I wish I was out at a baseball game with a glass of this in hand. It would make for a perfect experience.

Different kind of Pale Ale as it behaves like spritzy soda water but with strong hoppiness. The hops are light and earthy with pine, rose petal, flower, spring like airy tastes with an easy caramel malt sweetness. Quenching and easy this is different but delicious.

Date: 2/21/14
Location: Half Time Poughkeepsie
Draught/Bottle: Bottle
Glassware: Broken Bow Pint Glass

Appearance: Golden and foggy, it is difficult to see through the glass. The head is two to three fingers tall and dissipates slowly.
Aromatics: Grapefruit is the strongest aromatic and it hits hard. There is some some flavor of orange and a light malt as well. And some of the pine you would expect from a pale ale.
Flavor: The mouth-fill is very creamy and juicy. It brings a lot of those flavors from the aromatics with it and the malt hits more in the taste
Finish: It finishes with the zests from the fruit and that tart and sour flavors also stays on the mouth.
