Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

Brought a 16oz bottle home from work the day it got delivered. I've had most of the brews from Maine Brewing and as hard as it is to say, MO is my personal favorite.

A slightly hazy copper body with an inch of white head. The head fades leaving behind tons of lacing. Reeks of citrusy hops. Awesome. Crisp and refreshing with malt and hops in near perfect balance. An awesome brew. The only problem with the Maine Beers is that they aren't cheap and they run in and out of availability. But thats what happens when you make something special in a finite amount.

Beautiful pale golden ale, nearly transparent yet hazy and lively. Big head from a center pour, solid white, and firm. Head retention is excellent; lacing is unbelievably thick and sticky. Beautiful beer.

Big citrus hop aroma, some cat pee sneaking in (the only MBC brew where I get this consistently), light biscuit and pale malts, some honey, and a lot of pine. Hop-forward.

Flavor completely matches the aroma: a hop-forward, pine/citrus/resin of a beast. Extremely bitter, but on the flavor end; there's no Bitter Without a Cause going on. All this floats on a light but present pale malt backbone, dry biscuit and grains. The malt flavor marks this as an APA vice IPA, but the bitterness tries to seduce you into changing your mind.

Very drinkable mouthfeel: comes across as medium-light, nearly gulpable, yet it has an almost chewy maltiness that makes you pause and really consider it. Absolutely no hint of alcohol, no sting (yet lively). Nothing off-balance at all.

This is among the better APAs out there. It doesn't have the big Citra notes of ZD, or the amazing mouthfeel of Edward, but I can't think of any others I'd put above it. A worthy, updated successor to SNPA.

Can't believe I never reviewed this beer until now! Super-fresh bottle, 2 weeks old.
