Beer added by: BEERMILER12 on 02-29-2012

Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

500 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.

Appearance - Cloudy light orange. Nice white head with a variety of chunky bubble patches.

Smell - Awesome hop aroma. Peach, orange, grapefruit. Grainy bready malt.

Taste - Less hoppy and more grainy. Peach and pineapple hops. Cracker malt lends minimal sweetness. Bitter finish.

Mouthfeel - Light and well carbonated. Easy drinking, although bitter.

Overall - I could drink this by the pint any afternoon. Doesn't ever really live up to its own aroma, but it's still excellent.

A - Clean and light orange/yellow body. 2 inch foam consisting of large air bubbles.

S - Lemon and Orange citrus notes combined with pine and grassy hop aroma.

T - Pine/herbal flavors slightly more prevalent than citrus, but nicely balanced. Slightly bitter and dry finish.

O - This is a nice Pale Ale, but I expected it to be a little better. I think it would be better if it was fresher (bottle date was 10-22-13). I'll update my rating if need be. Prost!

Bottled 12/31/13

A - Light amber with thick head, which holds pretty well. Cloudy and bubbly. Don't really see any sentiment.

S - Piney, sweet, and citrus. The smell is very pleasant, and my favorite part of the beer.

T - Very piney, but, surprisingly, not really that bitter. There is a citrus, almost orange taste. There is a mild bitter aftertaste.

M - Light mouth-feel, with a bit of an alcohol burn and a little bit of carbonation.

O - I like the smell a lot, and the taste is pretty mild. I like that it is not very bitter, but the piney taste is pretty strong. I am not sure that it is a flavor I would seek out, but it is pretty good if you like piney taste without the bitter (which seems a bit unusual).
