Style | ABV
American Pale Ale (APA) |  6.00% ABV

Availability: Rotating

Notes/Commercial Description:
Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

DAMN! Ok so this is the best APA I've ever had. Maine brewing always kills it, but this time it's ridiculous. This is on par if not better than Three Floyds Zombie Dust, actually screw it this is better. Great hoppy taste with an awesome citrus afternote, grapefruit or tangerine can't really tell. 95 is good but sorely under-rated for this beer, just go get it and you'll agree with me. Again, DAMN!!

Appearance: pours an earthy burnt orange color. two to three fingers of a frothy white head that fades slowly and leaves a huge lacing all over the side of the glass. completely opaque with lots of haze

Smell: orange, orange zest, floral hops. slight bready malt sweetness.

Taste: opens up with fairly juicy orange, along with a dash of orange zest and lemon. hops flavors round out with an earthy pine and some florals. backend has a slight sweetness and bready malts.

Mouthfeel: light, some lingering bitterness, a touch dry. fairly refreshing

Overall: better than the other pale ales I have had from Maine Beer but still fair from my list of top pale ales. the taste come off with too much earthiness, along with a hop profile that just doesn't do it for me. That said it is refreshing as a pale ale should be.

Bottle conditioned in a cloudy light orange. It has a 2 finger fluffy head.

The aroma has huge orange and tangerine, definitely some tropical fruits like passionfruit and pineapple. Some pine and dankness on the back from the Simcoe and Falconer's Filght.

The beer hits with those tropical fruits in the front. The general theme is a grapefruit flavor with fruit flavor, bitterness, and slight sweetness. A very clean drinking beer that then hits of pine dankness on the back. This is complemented with some biscuity malt.

Maine Beer Company again with some of the best hoppy beers around.
