Our first run at an American Pale Ale. Flavors and aromas of zesty citrus, passionfruit, and pine present themselves throughout. A very subtle malt sweetness for balance, but this is intended to finish dry.

On-tap in DC at Churchkey.

A: Pours a light gold. 1 finger head, a little cloudy.

S: Incredible. One of the best smelling Pale Ales I've ever had. Huge tropical fruit notes.

T: Same tropical fruits from the nose. Pineapple, citrus, lemon. Light malt backbone.

M: Good carbonation. I wouldn't even know there was alcohol in this one. So easy to drink.

O: One of the best Pale Ales I've ever had. Damn.

Poured from a 16oz bottle dated 28-Oct 2014. In other words, really fresh. Thank you MBC for making these dates so legible, I wish other brewers would follow suit.

I can't think of a more appealing pale ale than this one. Beautiful translucent orange color, lovely citrus nose, crisp and very pleasantly drying on the tongue. Malts are very subdued both in flavor and aroma, but in a good way. Maine Brewing really knows what they're doing, and I applaud their restraint as far as not trying to make every imaginable style of beer. Drink this pale ale fresh!

Pours a exceedingly lovely clear copper color with a bubbly white head.
The aroma is loaded with citrus notes and a hint of sweetness.
The taste follows, lots of orange and a hint of grapefruit, maybe a bit of peach and sweet pineapple. A very nice malt balance and a perfect, slightly bittering finish.
Mouthfeel is outstanding: Medium, smooth, nearly creamy.
Overall, I just can't stop drinking this beer. Wish I could get it regularly...
