massive 3 fingers of chocolate foam, it moves around like a well choreographed dance troupe, lacing is superb, the bubbles clone each other stacking nicely toward the beer, the head sticks around for a good amount of time but does eventually retreat to near normalcy, color wise you could put this on a horse and call it blinders, no light is passing through this darkness, good looking porter
yeasty chocolate roasted coffee, deep roasted bean aroma with milk chocolate trimmings, chalky cocoa powder, flat out great - liquid candy bar
chalky with slight prickly notes from the carbonation, strange feel... it is light (relatively) but yet satisfyingly full, it is like liquidy chocolate marsh mellow, really slick and smooth here, the bitterness follows the roast flavor, the sweetness does not over power, the flavor lingers but fades just enough to entice the next sip, this hits most of the right notes
tasty, a really good porter with well developed flavors. I will only nit pick that I prefer more coffee flavor but that is a personal thing, this is a damn fine beer

A: Pours jet black, 1 1/2 finger tan head that lasts and lasts, but little lacing.
S: Initially sweet, then roasty and chocolaty. Suggestions of biscuit.
T: At first blush: TOAST! Really toasty, alcohol apparent, a bit sour and bitter for the style, I thought, almost burnt-tasting at times. Over-hopped? Improves as it warms.
M: Heavy and smooth.
O: Not bad. Not a great porter, but at its best it tastes like toast with Nutella. Could be richer, creamier, less hoppy.
