Our take on an American robust porter. Dark, thick, chewy, chocolaty, and of course, generously hopped.

Poured from a bottle into a perfect point glass. 11/24

Pours jet black, full dark, with thick fluffy off white foam. Slow settling. Light chocolately nose. Modest coffee too. Hint of vanilla. Smooth light roasted flavor with dark chocolate expertly filtered through. Subtle bitter ticks in. Really flavorful. Great porter. Fantastic.

Bottled 10/22/13

A - Black with brown highlights and a creamy mocha head leaving stringy lace everywhere.

S - Milk chocolate, vanilla, roasted malt, light char, light herbal hoppiness.

T - Roasted malt, vanilla, char, milk chocolate, earthy hops.

M - Starts light but moves more towards medium as it warms. Creamy.

D - I have tried 2 Maine beers now and both need to really warm up to get the full flavors. Both were very smooth and went down way to easy.

Tis the season for drinking!

I love Maine Brewing because every beer they make you can taste the hard work and loyalty they give to each of their beers. With that said King Titus is going to be the next naughty elf of a beer I review.

Poured into a 16.5 Goose Island stem glass because I was dropped on my head once when I was little. I took my time pouring this chalupa and the head was HUUUUGE! and black like Christmas eve night or any other night.

Aroma of dark chocolate, bready malts, maybe some of that vanilla?, and Santa Claus or as the Latino ethnicity name him Pappo Giggo.

Tastes like snow fall babaaay!! With bitter chocolate, some coffee maybe idk with a nice gentle yet loveable sweetness and its a clean finish with a medium body like Beyonce and a partridge in a pear tree.

Overall this beer swings, its pricy but it still swings in the big leagues and if your drinking minor league beers then this will bump you up for sure.

Poured from a 16.9 oz. bottle into an unbranded stemmed English style ale glass

Pours a very dark dirty motor oil brown, bordering on black, capped by a one and a half finger tan head. Above average tend, splotchy lacing here and there. Very inviting nose, cocoa powder and big roasted malt accents with some espresso undertones dominate. Opens with semisweet chocolate, toffee, and roasted malt, joined by whipped cream and espresso accents. Finishes with the perfect level of roastiness as the bittering hops join in. Smooth, creamy medium body. Consider me impressed, one of the better porters I've had the pleasure of drinking.

Pours dark brown nearly black in color. Very little light make it through. Head is thin half a finger and off white. Head has great retention and leave some nice lacing around the glass.

Smell is great. Awesome porter aromas, mild roasted toffee like malt with some chocolate and light roasted bitterness.

Taste follows the nose some good lightly sweet toffee like malt is forward before mild charred bitterness that persists On the palate. More roasted husky malt is near the end.

Mouthfeel is good. Moderate carbonation and medium to light body gives this a nice soft feel and keep it refreshing through the charred bitterness.
