Our take on an American robust porter. Dark, thick, chewy, chocolaty, and of course, generously hopped.

Poured into a stone snifter. Bottled 2/25/14.

Quite dark brown appearence, might be confused as a stout at first glance. Aroma has lots of chocolate and roast with some coffee and oak, maybe even some chestnut. Taste has chocolate, roast, coffee and nuts. Very well balanced. Nicely done Porter by Maine Beer Company!

500ml bottle: This one pours an opaque, dark brown color. There was a dense, crea,y tan head on it that lingers a bit and leaves some lacing. The aroma is nice. Roasted malts and some coffee. Hints of some caramel and chocolate. The taste is good. Some roasted malts and coffee notes on top. Subdued chocolate in the background. Slightly biter: no sweetness at all. A very nice beer.

King Titus is black (SRM 40+) with a chestnut brown, creamy froth that never recedes to less than half an inch. The fisheye pint glass is coated with lace by the end of the session.

Sweet roasted malt is accentuated by molasses and espresso. With warmth, a light liqueur is followed by nuts.

This one is well balanced between roasted and sweet malt. The roasted qualities bring out black coffee, nuts, cola and chocolate. A light, bitter finish lingers and brings out bitter chocolate.

The body is light to medium, with a silky texture. It has ample carbonation and light alcohol.

This is a great beer to accompany reading or to enjoy with friends during a long, cool afternoon. The roasted nature brings out some funk from a Chimay soft cheese.
