Appearance - Pours straight black with almost no head.
Smell - Chocolate malt aroma a little Booz
Taste - Smooth with slight bitterness. Creamy malts upfront, getting roasty into the finish with a chocolate coffee finish.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied medium mouthfeel dry on palate.
Overall - Great beer being very complex and well balanced.

A: Pours jet black, 1 1/2 finger tan head that lasts and lasts, but little lacing.
S: Initially sweet, then roasty and chocolaty. Suggestions of biscuit.
T: At first blush: TOAST! Really toasty, alcohol apparent, a bit sour and bitter for the style, I thought, almost burnt-tasting at times. Over-hopped? Improves as it warms.
M: Heavy and smooth.
O: Not bad. Not a great porter, but at its best it tastes like toast with Nutella. Could be richer, creamier, less hoppy.
