500ml bottle poured into a Maine Beer Co Wine Glass.

The beer pours a hazy golden color, hues of straw and orange with a nice finger or so of soapy, white head that has great retention and leaves a great network of soapy lace behind. The aroma is pleasant, very grassy with some nice light citrus and fruit with a touch of pine and sweet malt. The flavors are right in line, lots of grassy hops, slightly bitter pine, tangy citrus and a crisp hop spice with sweet pale malt. The body is nice, moderate carbonation that is very smooth, coats the mouth well and finishes with a great dry kick.

Verdict: A really delightful IPA from Maine Beer Co. Light, dry, refreshing and sure to quench any hop heads thirst. The balance of flavors is wonderful, although perhaps it could pack a bit more of a punch.

500ml bottle into 4 hands tulip glass
Appearance-Pours an absolutely gorgeous light golden body with a nice 2 finger foamy white head
Smell-huge pineapple and papaya notes at first than some tangerine and grapefruit
Taste-sweet papaya and tangy tangerine and bitter grapefruit at first than you get some grassy notes at the back end I cant taste any malt in this ipa it is just a straight up juicy IPA! there is some bitterness but not a lot at all just really juicy.
Mouthfeel- light to medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Very nice for an ipa

OVERALL- this beer really hits the spot and I think is one of MBC's best brews to date.. its either this or peeper for me

500ml bottle poured into tulip 12/4/14

A hazy bright yellow, lots of sediment and little yeast chunks, two fingers of foam sits around for a few sips leaving a couple thick rings

S lemon, tangerine, apricot, a little grass and yeast, pine, floral notes, I wouldn't guess they use the same hops as Weez but shes smelling pretty

T lemons more focused towards peel, not as much pine and grass, faint booze, just a faint hint of dry cereal, slightly different from the nose but equally as good

M lighter side of medium bodied, creams up quickly, not as bitter as expected, a little slick after the fact with some pine and vitamin c chewable on the finish

O no complaints with this one, I could easily drink another, not a palate wrecker but plenty of hops in a drinkable IPA

I'm loving this new addition to Alberta, Maine Brewing has gone 3 for 3 in my books

Appearance: a golden to straw yellow color. great clarity until i dumped the yeasty dregs into my glass. a small white head that fades slowly and leaves behind a fairly strong lacing.

Smell: lots of hops, most prominent is citrus, anywhere from grapefruit to orange to lemon, small hints toward herbal, earthy and piney. light bready malt background.

Taste: opens up with citrus i'd say a cross between grapefruit and lemon. other hops such as earth and pine play in the middle. the end is a sweet lemon bread character that quickly fades to a bitterness

Mouthfeel: good balance between sweet malts and bitter hops. not overly bitter but lots of hoppiness.

Overall: a good ipa. can't say to much as i am beginning to get ipa overload. their is only so much variation on the ipa can get and i think the markets about there. still a good drinkable beer, but nothing to set itself out from the rest for me.
