Balanced layers of flavor. The crisp and clean finish of Blues’ Golden Ale makes it the perfect complement to any meal. 16 Mile names this golden ale for The Delaware Blues who fought in almost every battle of the Revolutionary War. Also pictured on our label, a monument in their honor is located Outside of Legislative Hall in Dover, Delaware.

Poured into a small chalice: color is gold, head dissipates before it has chance to present, lots of clumpy yeast sediment.

Smell is sweet malt, toast, caramel, and a off yeast/fermentation flavor.

Flavor is sweet malt, lighter toast and caramel and an off flavor I can't figure out but detracts greatly from the beer.

Mouthfeel is sweet, moderate carbonation.

Overall, a bit disapointing based on some other 16 mile beers sampled, way too sweet and some notable off flavor that detracts.

The appearance was a decent looking hazy yellow to somewhat golden color with a light transparency allowing some carbonation to be seen rising. There was a thin white head that barely allowed any lacing once it started to die. The smell had some toasty sort of sweet corn notes. It seemed slightly grassy and herbal. The taste was basically the same. On the palate, this one sat fairly light and sessionable. Overall, I had a couple of these and ended up having it with some fried oysters and that went extremely well.

Undated bottle into pint glass. Pours a hazy straw color with an off-white head that dissipates quickly. Initial impression is a little hit of citrus up front, which fades quickly into pale malt. Carbonation is on the high side - not fizzy, but approaching fizzy. Light-bodied. Finish is dry and slightly sweet. 16 Mile can do better than this.

Pours a very light golden with a thin white head which is quick to fade. Smells of malts, yeast, and a tickle of citrusy lemon hops. Body is thin and a bit watery, high carbonation. This is a decent beer, but not too complex or something to seek out.
