Light on the palate and crisp from start to finish, Responders Ale demonstrates the fundamental importance of premium ingredients. Choice English barley, a touch of wheat and mild bittering provide the foundation for this light-bodied beer whose story is not light on fortitude. We honor and give thanks to our emergency responders. $3 from every case and $5 from every keg will be donated to the National Fallen Fire Fighers Foundation.

Pours a crystal clear dark straw color. A fingernail length high white head shows decent retention.
The nose shows some promise as it reveals doughy and biscuity malts. There is a light touch of floral hops and apples.
The taste does not really follow suit. The malt evident in the nose isn’t as prominent, perhaps a little bready, but mostly clean and thin. There is a light touch of citrusy and lemony hops.
Medium to light bodied and easy to drink. Clean and with a dry palate. A bit watery and lager like.
The positives are that it has a decent crispness and refreshing quality. Beyond that, it is unremarkable.

This beer came from a "beer of the month" club. I realize this was to be a light beer upfront; however, I will be honest... "This is a Budweiser, relabeled." I know it is one of the more popular light beers in America today, but what I was hoping for was something different. If you are a lover of domestic light beer but don't want to admit you do, this is your beer! I wish I had more to say other than it was drinkable, but unfortunately the nose is 100% Forgettable.

Yellow with a white head
Smell is very subtle. Bready from the malts and grassy from the hops.
Very light flavor and mouthfeel. It actually has the same lightness on the palate as a light beer like bud light, but with a nicer flavor. It's hard to even pinpoint the flavor since it's so light, but I'm mostly getting a wheat aftertaste.
I could see enjoying this more as a summer session beer (I'm drinking this in January) since it is very drinkable even if the flavor itself is a little lackluster.

12oz bottle into a pint. The brew appears a clear golden color with a finger white cap.
Smells sweet with a mild fruity ester thats faintly of floral hops. Slight grainy quality gives way to almost a hint of corn.
Taste has a bit of a carbonic bite before a clean noble hop bitterness that fades to grassiness in the finish. Mid palate as this warms there is almost a hint of bubblegum or something.
This is a light bodied brew with modest carbonation. It is light, crisp and easy drinking. I can respect what they were going for with this brew. Not bad and appreciated.

16 oz. pour
A- Clear, golden, foamy white head. Retention isn't great, but it leaves some lacing.
S- Bready malt, with a rather floral hop aroma.
T- Bread again, a little more grainy. Very reminiscent of an AAL.
M- Clean, light body. semi-dry finish.
O- Not bad. This is one I could send to my macro-drinking friends. I really respect what 16 mile is doing, with their mission to make good lower ABV beers.

12 oz bottle into a wine glass.
Appearance: Pours a semi-murky golden color. The head is a finger high, and white in shade. It combines a bubbly texture with decent retention. No lacing is left behind. (2.75)
Smell: Uhhh...where's the aroma? Okay, that's hyperbole: I'm getting a touch of wheat, and maybe a kiss of crackery malt. That's it. Not a very good first impression, is it? (2.5)
Taste: The flavor is quite light. Unfortunately, what little flavor there is seems flawed: it opens up with oddly acidic wheat notes. On the other hand, the finish has a decently British earthiness to it. There really isn't much to this one at all, and it isn't even that balanced to boot. (2.25)
Mouthfeel: It's fairly thick for 4%, truth be told. Problem is, with the lack of flavor, the relative bigness just seems obstructive. Carbonation is high, but pleasant hiding through the full body. Honestly, the feel is good - it just needs a (far) more dynamic flavor profile to succeed. (3.25)
Overall: This is a great cause, I must say. I must also say this is not even close to being a great (or even good) beer. There's just something odd about what little flavor there is. Having said that - and I hate to dust off this old, stereotypically BA chestnut - but it could really use some citrusy hops to jazz it up. As it stands, I'm not going to respond to this one any time soon. (2.25)
2.43/5: No sir, I don't like it
