Had on tap at the Pickled Pig. Review from notes.
A: Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head on top. Very little head retention or lacing.
S: Actually quite like the aroma. Reminds of me those chocolate oranges you smash and then eat the slices. Lots of orange zest mixed with chocolate. The peppers are in the background as a little bit of spice.
T: The flavor profile left a lot to be desired though. Had it been similar to the aroma I would have been happy, but it wasn't. Not much orange or spice, or even chocolate for that matter. A bit of roast, faint chocolate, and the smallest hint of spice.
M: Medium bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Had high hopes based on the aroma, but the flavor profile left me disappointed.

Mini-growler from the brewery.
Murky brown color, more than sufficient head. Smells of citrus, chili pepper, cocoa nibs, grape skin, brown malt and edible flowers. Smooth, slick, full-ish body. Mildly roasted malt character, brown bread, toasted biscuits, chocolate, chicory, orange peel, mild chili pepper heat, ripe plums, hint of alcohol and semi-sweet toasty / roasty finish.
Not half bad, certainly extreme though not so clean. A bit to muddled for me but the flavors still work.

First had: on tap at 16 Mile
Brewed with oranges, cocoa, and Guajillo peppers.
A dirty, murky pour, rust-colored, with a small tan head that receded to a ringlet and held there. In the aroma, roasty dark malts, cocoa powder, and a twinge of citrus zest in the distance. Taste was earthy, malty, a good melding of orange flavor, with a bit of heat from the peppers coming in at the end, giving a dry vegetal effect. Not bad, but a bit unbalanced. Medium body, and somewhat drinkable, but I'd have to be in the mood to try it again.
