A - Very dark brown, some light brown shining through, and some off-white head from the heavy carbonation leaves a nice lace. Some sedament visible in the bottom of its chalice.
S - Very sweet and malty smelling, lots of dark fruit, raisins and cherries mostly. Surprisingly little alcohol detectable even when it warms.
T - Strong robust sweet taste, very fruity but quite boozy as well, more than in the nose. Tastes largely like prunes, dates, red grapes and balckberries. There is a significant bitterness which keeps it from being overly sweet. Reminiscent of a carbonated vin doux naturel or a porto.
M - Quite effervescent, tingly feeling, perhaps from the alcohol. Very pleasant medium-heavy body balanced by the carbonation.
D - A little strong, but balanced so well that it is very dangerous and deceptive.
