Pours amber-brown with a subtle reddish tinge. Thick, fluffly head and large beads of carbonation visible along the sides of a tulip shaped-glass, cascading up and keeping the head thick and full.
Aroma is magnificent. Clearly noticeable with the glass not even close to the nose. Essences of maple, nuts, and cinnamon dominate, with some dark fruit in the background.
Flavor continues many of the flavors found in the nose. Maple, light cherry, and raisin essences explode with the a powerful carbonation. Alcohol is there but hardly noticible with all the flavor essences going on.
A marvelous dark Begian strong ale, full of the wonderful complexity exempletive of the best of this style. Highly recommend.
