Poured into a chalice...mahogany brown with tan head, that retains nicely to a sustained film and beautiful lacing. Some carbonation and sediment...looks like a really nice bottle-conditioned dark ale. Nice.
Smell is good. Delicate and not in any way overpowering, flowery and fruity.
Taste is...whoa...super complex. So much here. Banana hops, dark fruit, molasses, rum (booziness is really pleasant and nicely in character) and on and on and on...really nice. Sweet, but not in any way sickeningly. Just a hint of bitterness, a tangy edge that keeps the sweet from going too far; really really nice.
Mouthfeel is really really good...full and creamy and fills the mouth with a long finish that leaves you happy for a long time.
This is a dangerous beer...very drinkable, very tasty...I'm quite sad that I only had one and I have no idea where I'll find it next.
