It was a cold, rainy, April evening. Poured delicately into a 13 ounce tulip glass. Very quickly, the tan head grew large. With half of the bottle poured, the glass almost overflowed with the foam. Waited a short period of time, poured the rest. Viewing the beer is a delight. Very dark, and a creamy head that lingers and lingers.
Smell: Caramel, Dark fruits and molasses. Toasted malts, with no alcohol smell. Not overly strong smell, which I believe is good.
Taste: Very nice and rich. Brown sugar, dates and figs. Suble toasted malts, no raisins. This one is good. Not too sweet.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, medium carbonation. Goes down with a silky feeling. Goes down very easy. Very warm finish....could be the alcohol.
This is a real treat. Not too sweet, but nice and complex. Again, a really warm finish.
