Appearance: This stuff is ridiculous! It's moderately dark brown, but this a bit of light around the circumference of the glass. The body of the beer blocks any light out. Foam is incredible and 1/4 inch remains long after the pour. Lacing is also excellent. Looks a bit like a chocolate wine.
Smell: Earthy caramel tones for the most part. Some raisin or plum smells resonate after swirling. No smell of alcohol.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Extremely mild flavor. I mostly get faint medicinal hops. Whatever it is, it's definitely very herbal. I love how subtle this is...and there is NO alcohol present in the flavor, which surprises me given that this is over 9%. Mouthfeel is very active and yeasty. A bit too much of the bittnerness seeps through, and I think that hurts the feel a bit.
Overall Drinkability: Not my favorite Belgian, but there's no such thing as a bad Belgian.
