Tried this with the wife on our visit to NYC. Not quite a Westy, but comparably well made for sure. The monks have this type of brew perfected for sure.
Appearnace is dark brown like the inside of a fig newton or sweet apple butter. Large head that fades to a fluffy cap with textbook lace.
Smells and tastes of dark fruits, cark caramel malts, toffee, candied nuts, maybe some fig fruits also. Well integrated Belgian yeast character with all the dark fruit support of the finest Dubbel.
Full bodied falvor with slick moutfeel and semi sweet finish.
