Poured the 11.2.oz bottle into my St.Feuillien snifter to find a nice full foamy white one and a half inch head. The aroma was mellow but complex with dark and dried fruit, yeast, and brown sugar.

The taste was very enjoyable, the dark dried fruits hit you upfront and quickly lead into the sweetness, I also enjoyed the yeast throughout each sip.

This one was smooth and very easy to drink. The body was just right too, not too heavy or light.

Overall I really enjoyed this one and actually enjoyed it much more than the Rochefort 10 I had earlier today.

Pour is dark brown with a huge light tan head that almost spilled over the goblet and was quick to dissipate.

Smell is Belgian, spice, yeast, slightly booze, plum and raisin.

Taste is complex fruitcake. Caramel, molasses, coriander, and a touch of fruity booze.

The medium body had plenty of carbonation and is very consistent. Not to boozy on the feel, and a great texture.

I liked this way more than the 10. The booze are under control, the spice is nice. It feels bigger than a dubbel, and in my opinion, it is more than a dubbel in experience.

Poured from a 33 cl bottle into a goblet. This pours a dark tea color, hazy, with a small tab head which quickly dissipates. The smells are of dark fruit, chocolate, sweet malts, alcohol. The feel is medium with high carbonation. The taste is good dark fruit, the unexpected chocolate flavor (not dark), sweet malts, and a little alcohol burn, excellent.

Finally got around to giving this a go after having the Rochefort 6 not too long ago. I"m not a huge fan of this style since it tends to be too strong for me but as soon as I poured this out, I knew that I would be proven wrong! Yes, this is quite strong and was a bit of an adjustment for me, but the wonderful hue, head, and subtle flavors were more than enough to win me over!

It's not often that I say this but I absolutely adored the pour to this. It was plum in hue with slightly brown edges that shone when held up to the light, a cloudy appearance, and without a doubt, the longest-lasting head that I've ever seen on a beer. It was so full that it looked like a solid and not a liquid, as if it was plastic and would never fizzle away. Much of it clung to the edges of my pint glass and there was still a little bit of it left when I took my last sip. The aroma wasn't that strong but the taste and mouthfeel more than made up for it, with nice and subdued notes of plum, currant, and apricot melding together wonderfully. This was quite strong and the alcohol could easily be felt in the aftertaste once the fruits subsided.

This has all the characteristics of a Dubbel and even though this isn't what I usually drink, a beer like this is so easy to appreciate. The strength of this makes it tricky to enjoy quickly but I have a feeling that most people have this for the wonderful flavors, full body, and beautiful appearance. There's no doubt there's a lot to like about this!
