This was nice and copper, a touch darker, with some great sweet musty smell, some more traditional beer smells than are usually found for a trappist. Smells a bit like fine brandy.
The head is tremendous. beautiful white and it receded but never disappeared. The taste is bready and there are some sweet phenols noodling around in your nose. There is some great carbonation at the end that kills the sweetness, although it is sweet malty trappiste heaven.
all in all, this is the very druinkable little brother to no.s 8 and 10. I would have no complaints to drink this all night, except that is costs four bucks a thimbleful, essentially. Its a must if you dig trappists though.
