Upon opening the bottle I got something like a loaf of fresh baked bread. After pouring it out into a glass (sediment and all) the bread smell was reduced and I smelled apples and pears along with the bread. The color was a cloudy copper, with a bright (it honestly reflected the light from the ceiling lamp) big bubble foam on top that stayed about halfway through drinking. The taste was pretty good - apples and pears up front, something a tad sour in the middle, and something spicy at the end. While drinking you get that carbonated taste at first, followed by something slick (not quite oily, but sort of like it) at the end.
Overall this was a beer for drinking slowly - you savor and enjoy. It does need some food to go with it though - by itself its maybe too much. Still, it was a good choice for watching a movie and slowly drinking the beer over the course of the film.
