Served into a tulip
A: Nice caramel brown hue which looks a little bit like liquid malt. Slightly carbonated, filtered, not what I expected with a finger thick fluffy head.
S: Nice smell of caramel really hits you, then some slight notes of butter/margarine. Coupled with some slight dark fruit smell, seemingly like wine.
T: Pretty much like the smell. Strong caramel notes with some butter and dark fruits. Slightly carbonated, a nice touch. Finishes with a bitter note. Slightly acidic.
M: Well balanced, carbonated. A very balanced beer through and through. Nice balance of flavours and carbonation. Easily drinkable.
Overall: Very balanced in many ways. Not a mind blowing beer, but a sort of beer where you just won't be disappointed. Those monks sure know how to brew a goddamn beer.
