A - great clarity, deep red in colour, but flashes light red. Big tan head, holds up well. Sticking lacing. Looks great.
S - figs, raisins, earthy spice, smooth alcohol
T - Smooth toffee and dark fruit. Exquisite. I'll have to get out my Brew Like a Monk book, but I swear there is a unique spice I'm tasting in here... maybe a touch of coriander?
M - Soft alcohol, very gentle. Very fluffy on the tongue, light, but full.
D - I've been in love with all of the Rocheforts since my first sip, and even this little guy stands up well on its own.
I've tried most of the well known trappist and abbey beers (even Westvleteren), and none of them come close to Rochefort. I am so happy that the 6 is now available locally, but it sure does have me craving the 8 and 10.
