AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
SEP 14, 2014
Code stamped on bottle neck 2353 SP 20:57. Pours out to a decent frothy head that falls to a thin permanent head and tries to lace a bit. Aroma is toasty, nutty, spicy, grassy and very slightly stale and cheezy. I don’t know how old this beer is. This is the right time of year and the bottle was not dusty, so I assume it is this season’s batch. (rolls eyes). Taste-wise, it is a malty and tea-like front, Michelob Amber Bock middle and dry grassy finish. Vegetal aftertaste. Mouthfeel is light and slightly astringent. Overall, a passable American amber lager but nowhere near an O-fest. Fail.

a clear reddish brown in color with a thin creamy tan head. light grain aroma. taste is initially a big victory malt flavor, followed by an odd earthy sweetness. the finish is slightly tart. mouthfeel is average. overall ok, but doesn't taste much like an oktoberfest.

Poured into a standard pint glass.

Look: A very clear, copper body with bubbles constantly arising to the top. An off-white head dissipates quickly and no lacing is present.

Aroma: Faint caramel and malts. Butterscotch.

Taste: Metallic up front. Bitter hops present themselves first before settling into a subtle, sweeter malt presence. No dominating taste profile, though.

Mouthfeel is carbonated, slightly dry.

Overall, a tad bit disappointed compared to the other marzens I've had so far. Very easy to drink, just nothing great in the taste profile.

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.

The beer pours a yellow orange color with a white head. The aroma is fairly straightforward and includes a lot of grain and bread notes. The flavor is more of the same. The beer is very grainy tasting with some toffee and a hint of grass. Thin mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nothing to seek out here.

Poured into a mug.

It's a clear, copper beer with a white head.

It smells kind of floral a bit of malt.

It's got a bit of roasted malt and there is a noce amount of bitter, grassy hops.

It's appropriately bodied and carbonated.

Overall, this is ok. I'll probably forget about it in the near future.

A - Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It left very little lacing.

S - It smelled of grains, roasted malt and floral notes.

T - It tasted malty and sweet with a nice mild spice bite.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied lager with a fairly dry finish.

O - This is a nice marzen-style lager. Another solid sessionable brew from Mustang.

Pours honey colored with a finger of ivory colored head. Zero lacing & head retention

S: Leafy hops & apricot

T: Follows the nose, also a touch of honey malt & grassy hops up front. Pears & woody hops are there as this warms. Finishes semi-dry with more apricot & woody hops, yawn

MF: Light bodied, slight carbonation & okay balance

Drinks alright, would drink one if offered, but would not buy this again unless freshness could be assured

This was a surprisingly easy to drink, clean and crisp beer from a local Oklahoma brewing company. Not a big fan of the Marzen/Oktoberfest beers but I liked this one more than most/.

(This is my first online beer review so aficionados and haters chill)

A= Had a nice caramel/golden color and started with 1.5 fingers of nice foam (that disapated rather quickly). Some lacing noticed.

S= Aroma had both distinct malt notes but also a floral undertone

T= Had a sweet tone through the malt that was well balanced by the right amount of hops

M= Had a decent medium body on the tongue and was somewhat vibrant

D= Very drinkable beer, was quite smooth for a beer in this style (IMHO)

Will be repeated!

Pours up a gold-orange with an inch of white head that nearly disappears after a gulp or two.

Lightly toasted malt with a hint of caramel pretty much sums up the malt side of things, while hops lend a touch of floral character and balancing bitterness before a clean, dry finish.

Pretty standard fare for the style, if not a bit toned down. Pretty much what I was expecting. It isn't very exciting, but it also doesn't really have any flaws.

Check off one more unexciting, contract brewed beer for the boys at Mustang Brewing. Thanks for pushing ahead the craft beer culture in Oklahoma, fellas.
