Growler filled at Yorktown Beverage, Yorktown, NY.

Pours a nice warm shade of darker maple syrup amber, clear, head quickly departs leaving just a very fine collar and fine film. Lacing is next to non existent.

Nose is filled with the expected spices for the style: cinnamon, allspice, and a hint of cloves, nice.

Pumpkin and spice present here at about the level that I find pleasant, which I would say is on the lighter side of moderate. Some sweetness, but again its about a the right level, and the finish is pleasantly quite dry.

I typically am not a great fan of the style, but this one was quite enjoyable. Well done, more nice beer from Long Island. (661 characters)

Poured from a growler at the brewery.

A - Orange and cloudy. Settles out a bit darker to an orange/amber color.

S - Smells strongly of pumpkin spice, and a little hoppy.

T - Tastes like a typical pumpkin ale. Nothing overly outstanding, but it is good and true to the style. Enough of the pumpkin flavor in the finish, with some sweetness.

M - A fair amount of carbonation. The beer is generally light bodies, but the carbonation makes it a little slow to drink.

D - It is drinkable, but I felt a little done with it having a second glass. Great for the season, and a solid job by Greenport. (597 characters)

Pours a crystal clear dark amber color with a short lived head that settles into the faintest of rings. If it wasn't for the carbonation bubbles it would have a flat look.

The aroma has a spicy pumpkin scent. Cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg make up the main spice profile. Solid brown sugar notes as well. Very nice aroma.

The flavor is not nearly as spicy but takes on more of a pumpkin flavor with a bit of pie crust. The spices in the nose are there but more toned down which allows for the pumpkin flavor to come out. There is a unique bready quality that almost tastes like pie crust. Quite interesting. A bit of a lemony twang in the finish.

The feel is very light, near watery. Not much substance to the body. Fairly balanced, drinks well but feels a bit lifeless.

A nice pumpkin ale. Good flavor and aroma. The body is lacking but you can easily drink this brew.

8/23/15 Edit, bottle version.

The carbonation is much better. There is a soapy white head that has decent retention. Plenty of prickly carbonation in the feel as well. (1,044 characters)

A: The beer is cloudy amber/orange in color and poured with only a few bubbles floating on the surface. A very light amount of carbonation is visible.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of nutmeg and pumpkin in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell but the nutmeg flavor isn't quite as prominent and blends in with the allspice and cinnamon. There are some hints of sweetness in the initial taste.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a low amount of carbonation.
D: The beer is very easy to drink and goes down smoothly. (544 characters)

Porured a dark copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured cinnamon, ginger and allspice. Light caramle sweetness detected as well.

The taste featured a dry pumpkin spice, moderate grainy malt and a touch of sweetness.

The mouthfeel was toward the drier side of the style.

Overall a tasty spiced ale that is refreshingly dry. (388 characters)

On-tap at the Bridgeview Tavern; served in a shaker pint.

A: Bright orange body and a finger of off-white head. Looks like a pumpkin beer should.

S: Smells like a pumpkin you just cut into to carve. A twinge of musty hops are there too.

T: Nice pulpy pumpkin and earthy hops. No sweetness or spices.

D: It goes down easy and because its not sweet, you can drink it during dinner and not just desert.

Overall: In a seasonal sea of pumpkin beers that are actually pumpkin PIE beers, this one stands out. It reminds me of Smuttynose's. Good stuff! (549 characters)

The brewery poured this for me while I was picking up a 1/2 barrel of the Black Duck Porter. I shared the growler with friends at Bellport Beer and a few customers too. I liked the strong pumpkin-spice taste that was creamy like Cappuccino and the first aromas were very inviting. I couldn't tell what the abv was, but the medium to light bodied ale was very easy to drink. Having tasted a few other pumpkin ales this week, I was impressed with the quality of this one. It has more of the nutmeg and cinnamon spices to it than most other Pumpkin ales. (551 characters)
