I believe I've tried this now at three differant places, all on tap, last night it was at the Peekskill Brewery. Menu said 12 ounce pour, 7 bucks, but it arrived in pint glass, nice.

Medium almond amber, minor head and just a few bits of lacing.

Some lite pine, and earthy hops in the muted nose.

Decent carbonation and medium body. Middle of the road DIPA, what this one is missing is some sort of hop crunch. I expect a quality DIPA to pack in more of a hoppy personality. It is moderatly bitter, but hop aroma and taste sadly understated. Best thing I can say is the 9.4% is well hidden.

Had on tap from the taps at the Greenport taproom next to the brewery room. Well balanced and drinkable for a new brewery to put together when at this young age for a brewery. Many citrus flavors and sharp pine notes come through as it warms and breathes. Drinkability is too good for the abv, it will sneak up on you. Cheers GHBC!

A: The beer is very cloudy dark amber in color and appears a little milky. It poured with a thin head that faded away very quickly.
S: The nose has strong fruity aromas.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is quite fruity. Flavors of apples and pears seem to stand out in particular; there are also hints of spices and sweetness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and sticks to your tongue like a comfortable blanket. Aging definitely improves the mouthfeel of this beer.
O: Considering its strength, this beer is quite easy to drink because the alcohol is well hidden from the taste. Nevertheless, it’s a good beer to sip and savor.

Poured a medium copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured juicy orange hops, a moderate crystal malt and a touch of mint.

The taste consisted of a tangy and sweet orange with a clean and medium bodied malt.

The mouthfeel was suprisingly clean for the style.

Overall a well balanced and user friendly DIPA.

Had on tap at the Lark on 9/7; pours hazy gold color with a creamy 1 finger beige head that leaves little to no lacing around the tulip glass.

Smells of big hops, with floral hops, flowers, citrus hops, grapefruit, spices, herbs, pepper, caramel and pine cones; this reeks of sweet oily hops, with citrus notes dominating the aroma and the alcohol coming through at the end.

Tastes like it smells, with floral hops, flowers, citrus hops, grapefruit, lemon zest, coriander, herbs, spices like pepper, cinnamon and cumin, caramel, alcohol and pine cones/piney hops; this beer brings heat, with the hops spices sizzling the tongue in a wave (pun intended) of hoppy spices. This is not a session beer, as the bitterness is too much, but it's a decent DIPA that hides the ABV very well.

Mouthfeel is creamy and oily slick, with average carbonation, a medium body and a bitter finish that gets more spicy as it warms. Considering the heat and spices of this brew, it was pretty drinkable, just not a session beer for me. Glad I had this as it was quite enjoyable and I always love a good DIPA.

On tap at the dutch into a goblet. Golden amber color nice white head with good retention. Scent is muted pine and cirrus hoppyness. Taste is more balanced than one would expect of a dipa. Mild cerealness balances the citrus hop. Mouth is light to medium, slightly drying. Not too shaby.

Quick note: The guys out at the brewery are really awesome. I drove out to Greenport from Queens to find out they were brewing and their store wasnt open that specific day. Disappointed, i was walking back to my car when i heard one of the brewers call out "hey, what can i get you?" Long story short, i walked out with 2 growlers. One of which was this hopnami fiasco.

a: Its color reminds me of a crust of some warm fresh bread sitting under a red autumn tree in the afternoon

s: It smells hoppy, and grapefruity.

t: Its filled with bitter hops, but thats not the whole story. Its got a sweet fruit tone, and an undercurrent that reminds me of vitamin C grapefruit cough drops

m: dont really notice the 9.4abv behind the bitterness, but its their... half a growler and you know its there.

d: I enjoyed this very much, but i love the style.

Greenport Hopnami has a pale, copper colored body with a thin line of off-white head that has fairly good retention and lacing.

Rather hoppy aroma, with lots of fruit and a substantial malt backbone.

A lot of tropical fruits including pineapple, apricot, orange, grapefruit and a little bit of lemon lead off. They start out bitter but turn more sweet than anything else. The middle has a load of pale, sweet malt and a little bit of caramel malt. A little too sweet, especially when the hop profile lends this beer all of the sweetness that it needs. A hint of more intense bitterness and piney flavor finishes things off, along with a little alcohol bite.

This is a big-bodied IIPA.

Not bad at all, a little on the malty side though, which is pretty ridiculous to write, but IIPAs shy away from the malt these days. If these fruity hops were left to run the show this beer would be a different animal.

Served on-tap at Jimmy`s No. 43 in NYC.

Appearance is a golden color with a smallish head. The nose has pine, grapefruit, flowers and hops. While the taste contains citrus, bubble gum, more grapefuit and hops. Mouthfeel is medium with bitterness in the finish, which does not stay for very long. All in all, a pretty good DIPA, but would not put it at the top of my list.

Wow, I didn't realize the ABV was so high... A straight up hoptastic, bitter brew that smells amazing and goes down pretty good. Really bitter but I can deal with it, almost like a grapefruit because of all the citrus. Bitter, sticky aftertaste but still I can drink it, not necessarily strong but you gotta pause for a bit. Powerful, if anything I might think up a better food pairing to kill the bitterness which is probably my only problem with it. Worthy though.

Had on tap at TJ Finley's in Bay Shore, NY.

Look: finger of egg shell foam with good retention. There was no lacing in my glass but there was a decent amount of patchy lacing left in my girlfriend's glass so I think the lack of lacing in mine had to do with the glass. The color is kind of a light copper color, though admittedly hard to see in the bar. When held to a light source it looks more straw colored and light in color.

Smell: floral and citrus hops dominate the smell with some sweetness below.

Taste: I get floral notes along with citrus like orange and grapefruit. There's a lot of sweetness in it too and almost too much sweetness.

Feel: medium bodied tending towards light bodied. There's a decent amount of carbonation, making it fairly crisp. This beer hides the alcohol very, very well. I thought it was only around 7% and I'm surprised to see it at 9.4%.

Drink: best part about this is that it could be sessioned easily. One of the more drinkable DIPAs I've had.

Overall, this is a decent effort but its not spectacular and there are certainly better DIPAs available out there. I don't think its an A and I think its current rating might have to do with the "homer" effect. Nevertheless, of the things from Greenport I would probably reach for this or the porter. Definitely a worthy effort and worth giving a try.

A - Pours a very clear copper-orange color with a half finger of white head. The head faded fairly quickly to a ring and left behind a bit of lacing.

S - There is a lot of bitter floral/grassy hops in the forefront. There are also some nice fruity/citrusy undertones wit ha touch of malt beneath the hops.

T - Starts off with some strong citrus hops that and just a touch of sweet malt flavor. Through the middle the bitterness really kicks in with some really nice fruity sweetness kicking in. The finish is some nice lingering bitterness with just a touch of alcohol making its presence known. Very well balanced.

M - Medium bodied with a healthy amount of assertive carbonation that is quite lively on the tongue. Very nice dry finish. Overall super smooth and super crisp mouthfeel.

D - Very drinkable. With a fairly high abv (9.4 %), this beer stays super drinkable and only gives a hint of that level. The taste is very nicely balanced and very enjoyable. One of the best mouthfeels for a DIPA also.

Appearance-Pours a clear straw-yellow with about a finger of white head. No real highlights, minimal lacing; average looking.

Aroma-Mmmmn, big aroma of floral and sweet-citric hops; they dominate the show. Some underlying crystal malt adding a measure of honey-like sweetness, but the hops are the real stars.

Taste-Quite sweet for a DIPA, and yet, it doesn't sacrifice any of that hop flavor. I pick up a lot of floral notes as well as candied citric fruits like candied lemon and grapefruit. There is a big underlying malty character, but it more or less stays out of the way. A touch of bitterness on the finish. This DIPA is very, very unique.

Mouthfeel-Very thick and moderately carbonated as well, especially for a DIPA; it definitely works.

Drinkability-A shared 32oz growler went in about an hour so it's a bit of a sipper; but it's very savory.

Had this delightful brew on tap at a local craft beer restaurant. Into a tulip.

A: Pours as a nice golden color, easy to see through with good carbonation. half finger head, with nice retention and decent lacing.

S: Upon first smell, this had a fruity malty smell, that opened up to a bit of hoppiness. Nice smell that intrigues you.

T: First sip reveals some bitterness and hoppiness, but much less than was expected from this DIPA. Although it is a 9.4% ABV, you would never guess based on the taste. Finishes with mild bitterness and delicious citric fruit flavor.

M: This is a fairly medium bodied beer, that has strong carbonation, but not overpowering. And leave your palate craving more.

O: overall this is a winner! Greenport really nailed it with this one, and I will surely look for it on tap wherever I go.
