Growler from Big Z's. Served into a tulip glass at fridge temp.

A- Really brilliant, crystal clear, burnt orange body with an off white head. Maybe about 1-2 finger head that dissipates rather quickly but not completely, it leaves a thin layer of foam on the top for quite some time before vanishing.

S- Very fruity aroma, and very sweet. Smells like a great IPA...orange, pinapple, mango and maybe a little touch of grapfruit in there. The aroma isn't too storong though which may be my only complaint. It smells so good but it really doesnt stray too far from the surface of the glass, which is unfortunate.

T- Lightly toasted pale malt, with a burst of orange zest. Floral and citrus hops come through and its got a hint of herbal tea in there as well. The end is very resiny with an orange oil finish.

M- Really great carbonation and an awesome body for an IPA. Very smooth. This is a pretty bitter beer, not the most bitter IPA that I have ever had but its got a really nice dry, bitter finish which lingers for a bit which is exactly what I am in the mood for. The dryness in the finish has almost got an herbal, tea leave kind of finish to it on top of the resiny hoppiness.

O- Really great, drinkable beer for any season or occasion. It's unfortunate that this isn't bottled because it really is great, I could drink this all night, and I intend on it. Definitely going to get more of this.

I read a comment below on how this seemed like more of an English Pale Ale than an American IPA and I'm not too sure I agree with that. While the hop flavor doesn't "jump" out at you it is still there and is still descently bitter. I would say that MAYBE it could be inbetween an English Bitter and an American IPA but I would definitely lean towards IPA especially because of the citrusy qualities. If you like bitter beer, than this is definitely worth seeking out.

On tap at Rattle 'N' Hum, NY--although it was listed as CitraHop IPA which I can find any reference to anywhere.

Pours a clear pale gold with an off-white, dense head. Some lacing.

Aroma of bitter citrus peel and resiny hops.

Upfront taste is a moderate bitterness of citrus, grapefruit peel, and lemon. Little grassiness too. Light, bready malt middle. Bitter finish of citrus peel, lemon, and light hop resin. Lingering grapefruit bitterness.

Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. Slightly creamy.

Pretty good. A solid beer, but nothing over the top. Nice bitterness, but kind of a typical IPA.

On-tap at Rattle ‘n Hum, New York, NY

A: The beer is clear light yellowish amber in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin off white head that consistently left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a collar around the edge and a bit of lacing running down the sides of the glass.
S: There are light aromas of citrus and tropical fruits in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and has flavors of tropical fruits and citrus along with a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a bit crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an easy drinking IPA that’s not too strong or overly bitter but still has a good amount of hop flavors.

Served on tap at Rattle N Hum in New York, NY

A: Pours a clear pale golden yellow in color with light to moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a half finger tall white head that reduces to a thin film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Significant lacing is observed.

S: Light aromas of pale and caramel malts along with stronger notes of tropical and citrus hops.

T: Starts with a light malt body of pale and caramel hops. On top of the malt body there is a very large hop flavor presence but without any associated bitterness - there are notes of both tropical and citrus hops.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp.

O: This beer has a really nice amount of hop flavors without any of the associated bitterness that you often get... Easy to drink, enjoyable, and just about sessionable (any stronger in ABV and it would not be sessionable in my opinion).

Growler filled at Yorkotwn Bev. Yorktown, NY

Pours near clear lighter almond amber, typical light tan head, that starts puffy and lite, then goes to a teeny bubble film, collar and respectable amounts of fine webs of high lacing.

On the nose I get some tropical fruit as well as some light sweet maltyness.

Others have mentioned the obvious problem with calling a beer "citrus IPA" - people expect to experience some citrus flavor...This is a tasty and enjoyable IPA, but where is the dang citrus? There is some mild grapefruit lingering in a mellow fashion way in the rear, but I'm definatly not getting my fix of citric hoppyness.

Malt yes, a moderate, balancing hop note yes, but citrus?...ahh what are ya gonna do. Decent enough brew, but nothing to get overly excited about.
