Malt forward, full bodied, deep red, with just enough hop balance. Inspired by some of our favorite English Olde Ales. Brewed a bit strong for sustenance and warmth on those cold winter nights.

ad on tap. Poured a clear reddish brown with a fairly well retained half inch head that left very little lacing. Smells of sweet malts, dark fruits and toffee. Tastes of sweet, lightly roasted malts, raisins, figs, dark cherries, toffee, a hint of chocolate and a mildly bitter hop presence on the finish. Light to medium bodied, lightly carbonated, slightly watery mouth feel. Seeing that the availability on this beer is winter, I wonder just how old it is.

A-pours a deep reddish amber color with an off white head with decent retention
S-raisins, dark fruit, dried cherries
T-roasted malt, raisins, biscuit, hops providing nice balance and a bit of earthiness
M-mediumed bodied and smooth
O-smooth malty beer, that has a decent complexity with high drinkability. I would seek it out again

A: The beer is clear but very dark brownish red in color (close to being black when viewed from afar) with a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high beige head that died down, leaving a few specks of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark malts and raisins are present in the nose along with some hints of roasted malts.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of dark malts (with a bit of roast) and fruity flavors of raisins and dates. Although only slight amounts of bitterness are perceptible, there are enough underlying hops to mask any sweetness.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied on the palate and is very malty with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is a nice beer for a cold winter night, but it's not that heavy so you can still knock back a few of these in a single sitting.

Serving type: growler

On tap at the Tap and Mallet in Rochester, NY.

This one pours a fairly nice-looking dark amber color, with a small foamy head, and a little bit of lacing.

This one smells like sweet honey-like grain, raisins, dark cherries, chocolate, and roasted malt. Smells really inviting and warm.

This is a really nice surprise, it's incredibly well done. It's very full bodied and rich for the ABV, with silky caramel and toffee flavors, some raisins and dark cherries, a bit of chocolate and roasted malt, and a very pleasant sweetness. The beer keeps from being too sweet with the nice bitterness from the chocolate and roast flavors.

This is medium bodied, with a rich and creamy mouthfeel, and a normal level of carbonation for the style.

I didn't think an Old Ale of this low-ish strength could be this good, but Anti-Freeze disproved me on that notion. I really enjoyed this one.
