Bottle, 1 pint .9 fl oz.

Pours a transparent deep golden color, bits of white suds for a head.

Smells of light citrus and bold, grassy barley malts. Mild pine hop bitterness.

Dry earth malts with light caramel sweetness. Hop bitterness on the dry side with grapefruit citrus elements. Possibly some honey and light spice like cloves or nutmeg.

Medium to full body with light soft carbonation around the tongue.

Really nice ale, great flavor and body for the abv which makes it highly sessionable. Very easy to enjoy and would love to spend an afternoon with a few more of these.

Amber in the glass.

Strong aroma of apricot and passionfruit.

Mainly tropical fruit and not too strong on the palate. Seems somewhat nervous and highly strung, as though the malt/hops balance is only just there.

Would happily drink this again.

Thanks to Jeff of Hop Leaf HK for sharing this at a tasting.

Wow, what a beer. Great clear amber colour with a consistent upside down snow storm producing a continuous head and slight lacing. An initial spicy and fruity aroma, though not too strong. The taste and mouthfeel is amazing. Fresh full bodied flavour of malt, grapefruit and honey leaving a very pleasant lingering after taste. Very well carbonated. Took a chance on this beer, glad I did, will definitely purchase again!

From the 25 fl. oz. bottle stamped 30-09-2013. Sampled on November 2013, which is past the expiration date.

The color is vaguely hazy and golden. I thought it might be darker. White fizzy head that fades.

The aroma is rather malt forward, slightly grainy, buttery, with a hint of pear or apple. The hops I get are earthy but not prominent.

The body is light to medium.

The taste has a kind of sugar in the raw sweetness with a decent malt flavor and mild bitterness at the finish.

Poured into my Duvel Tulip

A - Poured a fairly pale honey colour, looking rather watery but had a two fingered frothy white head that retained fairly well

S - Very grainy citrus aromas in particular lemon with honey

T - Upfront on the taste I get some caramel, slightly yeasty and nutty but then get grapefruit and lemon tart finish that balances fairly well

M - Light to medium bodied with medium carbonation

O - Not a bad ale . Initially I didn't think much of it but the more I consumed I liked as it balances fairly well

After last nights drunken debauchery at The Archive I probably should not be reviewing anything and letting my liver rest for a day but what the hell- I love beer! This is one brew that has one of the most unassuming labels I have ever seen, oh well as long as the beer packs some flavour what else matters?

Poured from a 500ml bottle into a nonic pint.

A: A slight hazy amber body with a boastful 2cm off-white foam head from a hard pour, which settles and leaves a surprisingly sticky lace for such a low ABV.

S: There is a decent toasted biscuit malt backbone with some fruity and floral Fuggles hops thrown in. The aroma is tasty and typical of a quality British ale.

T: For something that is almost a mid-strength the flavour is big; caramel malt, grapefruit and honey with those fruity/floral hops at the back end. The bitterness is more on par with an American pale ale but we wont hold that against them. Nice work The Celt Experience Brewery. It makes one wonder how big the flavour would be at 5% ABV.

M: Medium bodied with a light English ale carbonation. Goes down quite easy.

D: A solid effort, which with price notwithstanding, is a winner. Really the only negative one could level at it is the low ABV, but let's not be petty with such a fine ale. This is a surprise beer for me that combines the caramel-ness of English ales and gives it a bit of a hop hit that you would expect from an American brew.

Food match: If you're wanting to have a night out and not get drunk so quickly this is the pick, and the food it would pair perfectly to would be Indian curry, such as a lamb korma or a nice butter chicken.

excellent pale ale - I haven't tasted a better one that is under 5% alcohol

big bold flavours, especially considering it is only 4.2%

taste: big grapefruit with honey, spice, citrus and orange peel - the malt balances it out nicely

tasty, fruity and unexpected - will be seeking this out in the future

Poured into a Samuel Smith imperial pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy, medium golden amber with a fizzy one finger head that dissipated quickly to patchy foam and a thick ring around the glass. Malty aroma with hints of toffee and light grassy hops. Flavor is more dominated by grassy hops with a light bready malt background, finishing with citrus rind and a lingering hop bitterness. Light bodied. Another pleasant, very English Isles style beer from Celt. This one is much less malty and lets the hops shine through a bit more. I miss the light smokiness in some of the others from this brewery, but this is nice example of the style, well made.

Pours a two finger white head that fades slowly to a thin layer leaving a good lace. Hazy amber color. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Grapefruit hops nose, flavor is honey and caramel with balancing grapefruit hops. Lingering light bitter aftertaste. $5.99 for a 500ml bottle from Tuscan Market Salem, NH.

(3.5) A: Clear amber colour with a creamy stark-white foam head that gradually recedes to a ring. Very good lacing.
