Poured a dark black with an amber hue, a very thin light tan head that disappeared quickly, very light lacing.

Aroma of light roasted malt, coffee and chocolate.

Taste followed the nose dominated by the roasted malt, light coffee and a slight hint of sweet vanilla.

Mouth Feel was medium leaning light body, light carbonation, smooth and a little thin.

Overall an average stout, went well with a brewpub burger.

Part of the Poitras/VA 2004 vacation.

Enjoyed on tap at Sweetwater Tavern - Sterling, VA.

Pint glass presentation. Short-lived 1/2" tan head, with no lacing to speak of over the dark brown/black brew. Deep oatmeal/dark malt aroma, the brew's best attribute. Taste of dark malts, but quite thin, almost more like a black lager than a stout. Mouthfeel, as previously stated, quite thin for the style, and drinkability okay, but if you wanted an oatmeal stout, you could easily find one better.
