500ml bottle-conditioned. Pours opaque dark brown. Diminishing tan head. Aroma: slight coffee. Taste: milky chocolate. Sweet. Mouthfeel: light-bodied, with lengthy mouthfeel and lingering chocolate taste. Overall: Very good beer. Sweet (lactose) stout made very well.

Served in a tumbler.

You gotta love the cool customers that head off for a trip to the UK and bring you back some liquid goodness. You're one of the great ones, Gwen! This stuff pours a clear black-brown topped by a finger of khaki foam. The nose comprises roasted malts, mild coffee, and a mild vein of cocoa powder. The taste brings in more of the same, everything coalescing beautifully into a smooth, semi-sweet melange of tastiness. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda creamy feel. Overall, a damn fine stout, one I wish was available 'round here, especially with this damn dearth of Mackeson's. Good times.

Charred black-brown, about 98% opaque with a coffee-and-creamer head. Pleasant nose of milky coffee with nuances of roasted sweet potatoes, piney hops, burnt pine nuts, and firewood. Sweet and caramelly, as any good milk stout should be, calling to mind Milk Duds and brownies, with a fruity apple juice quality as well as a note of graham crackers. Thin on the palate - it could be thicker, but then again it is nice and dry, and we wouldn't want to ruin that. A nice milk stout - I wish more brewers brewed them.

Pours dark black with classic white stout foam. The consistency is what you'd expect from an English stout with a very creamy texture. Hints of roasted malt hit the pallet immediately with milk and even banana in the finish. The mouthfeel is spot on like you'd want it a milk stout with a perfect amount of carbonation. Overall a great beer with complex favors and a really refreshing texture. Not too high on the scale at 4.5% with a lot of flavor.  If only they sold this one in the states it would be on my regular stout rotation. Fortunately it's bottled so I'll be bringing a few back across the pond. Well done Bristol Beer Factory!
