Great smell of white wine, apples and citrus fruits when you pour this hazy gold beauty. Giant, rocky white head crowns the brew and laces impressively down the flute. Even with a careful pour it's impossible to hold this foam in the glass. Fine carbonation escapes and trickles to the surface as I admire this Triple before sipping.
Upfront fruitiness combines plum, currant and some full bodied yeastiness with Belgian earthy flavors. Alcohol cuts the sweetness and makes this one of the dryer triples I have tried. Hops are way in the background and don't contribute any noticeable flavors. Spiciness lingers in the dryish finish. This my first experience with Westmalle and won't be the last.
