A: It rests with a creamy white head about 2/3 a thumb's thickness on top of a hazy pale gold beer. There's ample visible carbonation.
S: The smell is a bit hard to describe, it has a yeast smell to it but is also very light earthy smell to it. I pick up some alcohol smell as well.
T: It tastes pretty malty, with a semi-sweet flavor almost like nut-bread. Some of the minor flavors are alcohol, a little earthy spiciness (like bay leaf), and the familiar Belgian funk (pretty mellow).
M: Mouthfeel is about medium, despite the beguiling light color of the beer. There isn't much bitterness but it's just enough to play on the alcohol tinge. Carbonation is just right, it's wonderful.
O: This is a great beer. I can't say that it's 5.0 in my book, but it's near enough. Perhaps if I had this locally in Belgium it would score a 5.0 with a more prominent scent and an even greater flavor profile. I would definitely drink this beer again.
