A wonderful part of my trappist beers from Belgium tasting, found at grassroots market in Jacksonville. 12 oz. bottle chilled to 45 degrees and sampled from a pint glass.
A: Pours a nice deep amber red with opaque hazing in the glass. When popped, the beer oozed head immediately before I could get it into the glass. 1" malty brown head with great retention and moderate clingy lacing.
S: Smells of sweet malty fruit such as dried plum and toasty postum notes.
T: Rich and silky with caramel notes, chocolate nibs and dried fruit on the finish.
M: Easily draught, the carbonation is light and the alcohol is well balanced. No bitter hops aftertaste.
D: Drink this beer.
