Poured from a 330ml bottle into a chimay goblet.
Pours a cloudy hazy brown, with a silky, creamy smooth head that slowly reduces in size.
Smells of dark fruit and caramel.
Tastes of malts and sugary flavours, with some intermingled spices and a vague fruitiness. At the end it becomes dry with some hops coming through giving it a fruity bitterness, as well as alcohol giving a warming characteristic.
Overall an excellent beer, though heavier, darker and more of a winter/cold weather beer than the tripel.
