How I missed rating this previously I don't know, since it is my favorite home beer, and living 7 miles from the Abbey makes it that much easier.
Pours a rich dark brown with about two fingers of head, which dissipates fairly quickly.
The aroma is a combination of malt and sweet, with raisin standing out from the others.
Taste reflects the smell, with the malt flavor at a great level, not overpowering. The hops are subtle but important, creating a wonderful balance.
Feels fantastic in the mouth, with a low level of carbonation, but great flow feel/viscosity, leaving the tongue wishing it was their longer, but the throat calls out for it.
My favorite regular Belgian beer, and definitely my favorite dubbel.
