Poured straight from the tap at Erasmus in Bruges and enjoyed with roasted rabitt in beer sauce...but that's another review...
Pours a very appealing dark, cloudy body with a medium-bodied caramel head. There's a light head retention but the foam seems to stick to the glass for a long time.
Faint aromas exhibiting a light sweetness with a light alcohol nose.
I taste medium carbonation, a very slight initial fruitiness. Tastes...like...pear! Yeah, that's it. These pear-like flavors yield very nicely to a hop bitterness that lingers just long enough for my liking. A beer this color, I would have expected something different. Namely, something heavier and maltier. But all I'm tasting here seems to be light and bitter. (I'm sure the malts would come around if the beer was a couple degrees warmer)
I kinda feel like there's something wrong with my tastebuds because I was expecting something much different. But we all still have a lot to learn, don't we...?
Overall, good carbonation, not too thcik or too thin, pretty drinkable, but I'm not feeling another one.
Serving type: on-tap
