Pours light brown with amber hints.

Aroma of candi sugar and light alcohol. Mild hay and orangey citus notes.

Flavor is full of rich earthy hay malt. Tons of candi sugar flavor and nice fruit as well. Lingering bitterness and alcohol light burn, spice and herbs.

Well rounded, complex, really beautiful.

Pours a deep eggplant color, which when held up to the light, reveals a myriad of fiery crimson hues, with a billowy head that sticks around. It looks utterly resplendent in a Westmalle chalice.

The aroma is very roundly spicy, pruney, and caramely.

The taste is tingly spicy prunes and dried fruit with a modest bitterness, a slight burnt taste, and a dry, oaken finish, something mildly reminiscent of a Cabernet Sauvignon with nuances of cedar, violets, leather, and cigars.

Very well attenuated, the mouthfeel is both smooth and crisp. The carbonation level is perfect. The crispness counterbalances the full flavor wonderfully.

This is a full flavored, complex yet approachable dubbel, easily one of the best out there.

Seek. Drink. Enjoy. Repeat as necessary.
