Poured from a bottle into Westmalle chalice….nice compact bubbles head one finger initially, down to constant 2mm layer of super small creamy bubbles. excellent carbonation, Very brown almost cola like color
Aroma is very mild, I sensed some dark fruit (prune/raisin with a hint of cherry. Malty aroma in background
Taste was among the best I've had…cherry up front, almost sweet malty mid, finishing with just a slight alcohol warmth. very true to the Dubbel style.
Mouthfeel is lively carbonation with a rich full finish, some dryness, no discernible hoppinnes , very smooth and mellow. Pleasant to drink.
Overall this is an outstanding example. Will definitely look for and drink again. A great bottle conditioned belgian ale, that imports well.

11.2 oz bottle best by 28/01/15 at 45 degrees into snifter
Aroma of dates and yeast phenolics
Head average (4 cm), light brown, frothy, rapidly diminishing to 2 mm ring and partial layer
Lacing OK – partial rings of small to large bubbles
Body dark brown, opaque
Flavor of dates and dark malts, slightly sweet, with faint alcohol aftertaste. No hops, no diacetyl
Palate medium, creamy, lively carbonation
A very good dubbel.
