Our oatmeal stout. It's very smooth, not heavy and has a full coffee chocolate-like flavor. We serve this beer under nitrogen from our nitro taps to ensure that cap of thick creamy foam.

Appearance: Looks good at first, head looks thick and creamy but it quickly falls to an anemic looking fizzy head much like a head on a root beer. Color is a very dark brown with a tan head.

Smell: Caramel, Coffee, Cocoa, simple but nice.

Taste: There is more flavor in the air than in the glass. Light sweetness, oats and black malt.

Overall: Light and uninteresting, Yawn.

On nitro tap at Thunder Canyon Brewstillery in the Tucson International Airport.

This one pours a dark black color, with a small fluffy head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like clean roasted malt, some light chocolate, and a bit of dark fruit.

I’m beginning to appreciate nitro a bit more - this is pretty well done. It’s nice and chocolatey, with a good creaminess and a bit of dark fruit complexity. It’s relatively simple, but executed the way you want.

This is creamy, decently rich, with a good drinkability to it.

I had never heard of this brewery until camping out near their little airport taproom while waiting for a flight. I’m happy with it!

Poured a deep black with brown highlights and a reddish tint when held to light, with no head to speak of. Overall impression is of a weak stout, possibly due to coming from a growler. Scents of roast malt, light oatmeal sweetness, some black coffee and cacao, hard water and a bit of a sour note. Overall impression of flavor is of a typical stout with the light wild yeast aromas that some examples impart. Not bad. Flavor begins with notes of roasted malt and acidic black coffee with a medium-light tartness and light floral hops. Middle gains in lactic sourness to medium levels with coffee with cream and roast malt and light fruitiness. Finish is dry with notes of roast malt and black coffee with a still present tartness at medium-light levels with some light fruitness, cream and floral hop notes. Aftertaste is roast malt and nutty oatmeal. Overall impression of flavor is odd. It is very tart for a stout, not like Tart of Darkness, but in an acidic coffee and lactic way, which masks some of the more typical oatmeal stout flavors at emerge most prominently on the finish and in the aftertaste. I am uncertain if his is what the brewers were aiming for, but it brings down the overall flavor profile. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with light carbonation and a chalky, drying feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a dry stout, true to form. Overall this is an odd stout. I am unsure if it's like this right off the tap or not, but it has an odd flavor to go with its admittedly nice aroma and mouthfeel that bring it down a bit. Not bad, but not a fantastic oatmeal stout either.

Nice nitrogen head, extremely smooth, no hoppyness, no bite, definitely a session beer at 5.2 abv, pleasing black/brown color

Very dark brown, thin layer of foam. Smelled of chocolate and coffee, but the taste wasn't quite up to what the smell implied. Just a bit on the weak side, more like a porter. A very creamy mouthfeel, the best part really. Didn't really feel like another glass, but wouldn't have minded, either. A middle-of-the-road stout.

This one is on a nitro-tap and thus comes out looking alot like Guiness Draught. Served in a pint glass. Very black, good thick light tan head. The foam has microfine bubbles and it lingers for a while. The smell is only faint, with hints of roasted coffee and chocolate. The taste is also missing something. The flavors are very subtle with more coffee notes and a slight burnt flavor. It tastes clean but there's still just not enough malt. Bitterness is pretty low. Its very smooth, but a little thin for a stout, I guess that's from the nitrogen? Carbonation is fine. Alcohol is not strong. Still pretty drinkable. It really does seem like a Guiness clone, and it's actually got better flavor, but not by much.

Served on a nitrogen dispense. This beer pours with a persistent creamy light brown head. The beer itself is a deep black beer with clear deep brown notes when held up to the light. This beer has a nice dry roasted malt aroma with a mix of espresso, burnt charcoal, and toast. This definitely has a nice aroma. The taste is smooth and creamy with a malty sweetness up front. This beer is very smooth throughout, including a subtle smooth roast character in the finish. This goes down so easily, much better than draught Guinness, and a great quaffer. So far the most enjoyable beer, a great session beers.

Black color. Aroma is medium. Aroma is roasted malts and chocolate. A medium bodied oatmeal stout. Malts are roasted and chocolately. Hops are slightly spicy. Smooth texture. Flavors are mild, but a very drinkable stout. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth.Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
