Stopped here on 10-7-13 during a week long Northern Michigan trip. Beautiful building in an excellent area, this place is not your average "beer stop". Definitely a place you could go for a "fancy dinner" dressed up, I wouldn't feel uncomfortable in jeans and a hoodie either.

Everyone that worked here seemed extremely friendly and very welcoming. We started our lunch with the Crab Tater Tots, loved them! We also ordered some pints, they had 2 JP Drafts, 4 North Peak offerings and 2 brews from Old Mission Brew Co. (IIRC). They also had 2 bottled offerings from JP, pretty much standard fare. The beers were good, I had a few from North Peak (Diabolical and Vicious) and I finally found a sour the wife likes, Bam Biere.

After our appetizer, we ordered 2 pizzas with the intention of having leftovers for snacks that evening....we were not let down at all!!! I ordered the Carnivore, my wife the Wild Mushroom. Some of the best pizza I have had in a while!

Overall, not a beer destination. However, after spending a day exploring the Old Mission Peninsula, definitely worth a stop for excellent food with good beer on hand to wash it down.

Went to Jolly Pumpkin at Old Mission with high hopes and left horribly disappointed. Our waitress was AWFUL! She had no personality and seemed like it was paining her to wait on us. Furthermore, the brewery charged $.25 for a taste of beer, which in my opinion is quite cheap.

The beer was average at best, which is kind of always how I have felt about the North Peak/Jolly Pumpkin brews (We drank Jolly Pumpkin's Belgian Pale, Bam Noire, and Oro de Calabeza, as well as North Peak's Amber and Wheat).

The selection was decent and the location/building is beautiful and amazing; however, the food was absolutely, outright atrocious! The chicken pasta had a horrible sauce, and rather than using whole chicken breast, the chicken looked like it came out of a can of cat food.

While the selection, beer, and atmosphere were decent, the service and food at Jolly Pumpkin made me embarrassed to bring my family there.

I loved the Jolly Pumpkin. The Old Mission location is buried a bit off the the beaten path but once you find it, you are in for a treat. Very rustic, vintage, cool vibe going on. The two girls working the front were great! Admitted they were not very knowledgeable but very helpful. I purchased warm half-growlers of some amber beer and Bam, a farmhouse ale. Both were delicious however one was $14.99 which I thought was ridiculous. Bought it anyway! Next time I'm in Traverse, I will definitely visit Jolly Pumpkin in Old Mission. Lots of beer to choose from. All, high quality. Great place!

Recently had the chance to make it to the Old Mission JP location. Atmosphere is unbelievably pretty - right on the West Traverse Bay overlooking Bowers Harbor through the trees. Brewpub is primarily wooden in structure and pretty on the inside as well. Beers are outstanding, as always with JP. My main gripe was the lack of JP offerings on tap - they only had Bam Biere, Bam Noire, and La Roja. There were probably 7 North Peak offerings, and I understand why they're offered, but I'm at JP and want my sours! Food is outstanding - had the sausage and pepper pizza and my fiancee had the goat cheese and arugula pizza which was also great. Reasonable prices. If you're in TC, it's a must visit for the location alone. If they had more JP on tap (like the Ann Arbor location has in my previous visits), it would have been perfect.
