The place had more of a feel for a resteraunt. Employees were friendly and waitress was very helpful, although a little slow. Great German beer selection all on draft. Most was from the Bavarian region, some from the north. Food was excellent, some of the best we have had in Europe. (283 characters)

Hafen Halle is an old railroad warehouse right at the main train station and harbor area in Konstanz. Inside are several restaurants including a decent size beer garden at the far end. They serve exclusively Augustiner and some related brands, but mainly Augustiner. It is a self service beer garden and it is not allowed to bring own food (different from some beer gardens in Bavaria). Food is typical Swabian/Bavarian fare with some Swiss hints. The Swiss boarder is actually less than ¼ mile away.

Definitely worth the visit just for the actual location and if you bring family, they can also grab some great ice cream right next door. (640 characters)
